Robinwood 2019 Day 2 …

Well, our second day at Robinwood is coming to an end and it’s been another amazing and action packed day.  Mr Crossley woke us all up at 7am and we went straight down for our enormous breakfast. We couldn’t believe the selection on offer: toast, cereal, bacon, eggs, sausages, beans and even some roasted piranha. After we had wolfed down our delicious breakfast, we were ready to take on the rest of our adventurous activities. Today we have put our skills to the test in night line, crate challenge, piranha pool, dungeon of doom and we even battled the torrential rain to squeeze some of the tiniest crevices while bouldering up at Orchan Rock.

We are all very tired and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow but for now, let’s have some more fun. Byeeee!

Robinwood 2019 Day 1

What a brilliant first day! Unfortunately, we didn’t get off to the most exciting of starts as we had to begin the day making our beds. Although a couple of fitted sheets ended up going over pillows, we didn’t do a bad job and we were soon tucking into our first meal of many. However, Franco and McKenzie were naturals at this and once they had made their own beds, they then started helping William and the other children.

After lunch, we were split into our two groups – Hill & Valley – and we were ready for our first activities. Valley started the day working alongside Agent Black as secret spies to solve an alien conspiracy. Despite the torrential rain, the team completed their secret mission and managed to retrieve the data and complete this dangerous escapade. After this, it was time for the children to face the dreaded trapeze. Even though there were lots of nervous faces and knocking knees in the room, I am delighted to say that every child had a go and dived off the box like an Olympic diver to reach the floating bar.

Hill team began their day on the towering climbing wall. The group proved to be naturals and after a little practice, they were scaling the enormous walls like Spider-Man. After this, Hill group also visited the terrifying trapeze. Finally, just before tea, it was time for Hill group to risk their limbs by entering the fearsome piranha pool. Unfortunately for parents, all the children managed to survive the piranha pool with seconds to spare meaning they will all be returning home on Friday.

Robinwood 2018 Day 2

Well, our second day at Robinwood is coming to an end and it’s been another amazing and action packed day.  The day started at 6 o’clock when the boys woke up. Unfortunately, we had to wait another hour for the girls to finally emerge from their bedrooms and then it was straight down to breakfast. We couldn’t believe the selection on offer: toast, cereal, bacon, eggs, sausages, beans and even some roasted piranha. After we had wolfed down our delicious breakfast, we were ready to take on the rest of our adventurous activities. Today we have put our skills to the test in night line, crate challenge, dungeon of doom and we even went on a top secret mission to help obtain information on some troublesome aliens who have been wreaking havoc in the woods of Todmorden. *As this was a top secret mission on behalf of the government, we would ask you to please keep this ,after private and not discuss it in the playground or Asda.* This evening, we are taking part in team challenge where we will be competing against the teachers in a series of exciting games to find out who really are the champions of Robinwood.

We are all very tired and looking forward to seeing you tomorrow but for now, let’s have some more fun. Byeeee!

Robinwood 2018

Finally, it’s the day we have been waiting for for such a long time – our first day at Robinwood! We eventually arrived here about half past 10 this morning, despite having to take the scenic route due to a burst water pipe in Mytholmroyd. When we arrived, we were greeted by our crazy instructors, Dom and Duncan. The day didn’t get off to the greatest start when we found out we had to make our own beds ? Luckily Ellie and Weronika were pretty good at this and helped their friends out. The rest of us still need a bit of practice though judging  by the look of the dorms.

After some quick dinner, we were ready to tackle some of the brilliant activities that Robinwood has to offer. Mountain team had an adventure packed afternoon which included wriggling through the smallest of spaces while bouldering up at Orchan Rock, scaling 30ft walls climbing like Spider-Man, perfecting their sharp shooting skills in Archery and they even finished the day in the dreaded Piranha pool. Team Crag put their skills to the test in the darkest of indoor caves while they also completed some archery, climbing and the fearsome piranha pool. Unfortunately for parents, all of the children escaped the piranha infested water just in time which means they have lived to survive another exciting day at Robinwood and will be returning in one piece on Friday.

After a long day, we have just sat down for a lovely got chocolate and a biscuit. We are all extremely tired and looking forward to a good nights sleep … Mr Crossley hopes!

Here are just  a few of the pictures from our first day.

Last day in Kandy

Today was our final day in Kandy before our homeward journey via Columbo. What a day! A great assembly both with the Sri Lankan children and you at Ling Bob! Sorry to disturb BLINGO KS1 hope you didn’t mind too much.

A great welcome also at St Antony’s Girls College with a band and beautiful flowers presented to us all. Mr Simpson taught all the girls a song including actions, like one of his singing assemblies. He also had all the Headteachers and teachers from the UK schools joining in!
